DESCRIPTION:Register for the event \nLos Angeles\, City Plants\, LA Sanitation & Environment\, LADWP\, and the Department of Recreation & Parks invite you to a day of climate and community action as we plant trees in Sylmar and celebrate California Arbor Week. Come for the tree planting — Stay for the live music\, food\, face painting\, art\, and resource fair! Please wear close-toed shoes and sunscreen\, and bring a reusable water bottle and gloves\, if possible. Volunteers will be provided with breakfast and lunch. \n8:00 am — Volunteer Registration Begins\, Breakfast\, Live Music & Resource Fair \n8:30 am — Event Kick-off & Speaking Ceremony \n9:00 am — Tree Planting\, Live Music & Resource Fair \n11:00 am — Lunch\, Live Music\, & Resource Fair \n1:00 pm — Event Ends \nCity Plants will host a FREE fruit and shade tree adoption at this event. Trees will be available for City of LA residents to plant on private property. Proof of residence within the City of LA is required to take a tree home for planting. For City Plants adoption rules\, please visit our website. Trees are 3 – 6 feet tall\, come in a 5-gallon container\, and must be planted in the ground.
